Clusterpoint Ltd. is a software product company in one of the key areas of the core enterprise software: database platforms. Global market size of database software sales and services is over $20 billion annually.
Our business flag-ship product is Clusterpoint Server: High-performance NoSQL database management platform software that is designed for cloud computing architecture, and that solves a number of our customer IT problems in relevant for them way:
Clusterpoint database platform has been developed into robust, reliable, high-performance NoSQL DBMS software code and is the result a cohesive software engineering and coding team-work by Clusterpoint co-founders.
Our game-changing innovation is a novel ranked database indexing method. This is a totally disruptive indexing method in database management and this our indexing method is being applied for the entire database content. Ranked index enables Clusterpoint customers to scale out any data storage in cheap clusters nearly linearly, using cluster nodes with relatively modest low-power computing resources.
Using this ranked index, Clusterpoint software guarantees lightning-fast sub-second database search in databases of any size without performance loss characteristic to legacy SQL databases. It also delivers super-fast and rich enterprise search experience, independently of the total database size and number of cluster servers. Incremental scale our ability in clusters is a generic software feature of Clusterpoint database technology, enabled by our uniquely ranked index.
The Clusterpoint Server software source code has being designed and
written in fast C/C++ and accommodates about 80-man years of system
design and software engineering efforts that started in 2001. It is a
closed source code, fully owned and controlled by Clusterpoint Ltd and
its team of co-founding software engineers who make the core
development team of the company.
The Clusterpoint software is distributed to customers in binary format
only. It is a high-value IP software protected by copyrights and
commercial secret.
Our business model is a classic enterprise software sales model: licensing and annual maintenance fees, with a recently launched freemium software version for a single server (without enterprise cluster database features) to acquire potential customers with minimal efforts. We tentatively pioneer also cloud SAAS services model following early customer interest.
The software is commercially supported and has growing number of paying customers, including leading regional Blue Chip customers.
Being not open-source with its self-cannibalizing multiple vendor support market, Clusterpoint also commands high premiums in recurring support and maintenance fees. Most of our customers are long term, and after initial upfront software licensing are now paying annual support and maintenance for our software latest versions.
At the moment we have concluded the a 2nd round of VC funding and rise €1M from Baltcap (Please read more on TechCrunch), for hiring senior management in the United States, in Silicon Valley location or in a nearby area.
Our company and our investors goal is to scale out Clusterpoint software technology to become a global player in recently emerged, fast-growing NoSQL database market, its commercial sector, estimated by industry analysts to reach $1,8 billion by 2014.
We expect to launch the 3rd round of VC funding in late 2012.
