Clusterpoint Server: AMAZON Cloud

Clusterpoint offers a cloud database platform infrastructure service that allows your to develop your own Web site applications based on Clusterpoint Server simple XML/JSON key-based database storage concept, without buying and installing the database software and hardware. Just launch a virtual machine image preconfigured for a cloud-providers virtualization environment.

Currently Clusterpoint offers it only for Amazon cloud with its Clusterpoint Server CLOUD License, that represents a pre-configured fully working Clusterpoint Server software in the form of Amazon machine image (AMI). It can be licensed under Clusterpoint Server FREE License or Clusterpoint Server TRIAL License.

To use the service under the free use Clusterpoint license, customer has to have Amazon account, and pay Amazon price for use time and storage of computing resources.

For customers requiring Clusterpoint Server CLUSTER License, we license the software only, so that you do not need to pay for data items stored and transacted like in both Amazon cloud databases (SimpleDB or DynamoDB). It can save you a lot of money.

Customer key benefits from using Clusterpoint Server running under public cloud database service account would be:

• more simple than Amazon SimpleDB: does not require to partition customer data in Kilobyte-size chunks, store complete XML or JSON objects under the same simple unique key-based data storage concept, without data object size restrictions;

All interaction between your application and Clusterpoint Server is performed via HTTP and are formatted in either XML or JSON, using openly published Clusterpoint API. Customer only needs his favorite scripting language supporting parsing of search results and capable of communication with a hosted database server over http protocol. The customer can start providing corporate database management services on its corporate Web site almost without any extra programming and using Clusterpoint Server database platform and API remotely. All database updating, database services hosting and monitoring will be handled by Clusterpoint.

The customer's database content will be fully available to customer applications within cloud infrastructure or over Internet, using just simple and open Clusterpoint API and firewall-friendly web REST API protocol to handle database transactions.
