For its Cloud management interface - Clusterpoint supports Two-Factor Authentication, using Google Authenticator application.

This means - that, to secure your databases, in addition to regular secure Username/Password authentication you can use code generated by Google Authenticator app (available on iOS, Android and Blackberry OS).

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

To start using Two-Factor Authentication - you must enable it first. This can be done in Cloud management interface: choose "My Profile" section at the top of the right corner:

And press Enable 2-factor authentication button

The next screen will help you to tie your Google Authenticator app to your Clusterpoint Cloud account. Scan the QR code with your Google Authenticator app, it will recognize the code, and start generating PIN codes for your authentication. Enter one of those (6 digit) pin codes in the text box below, and press Submit.

NOTE: if after entering the pin code system reports 'PIN isn't valid' error - check date/time on your mobile device running the Google Authenticator app. The time should be within 3 minutes of 'correct time' (as it is usually obtained by phones from the cellular network).

From now on, or until you disable it, you will need to use two-factor authentication to log into your Clusterpoint Cloud database management interface.

NOTE: if you have several Cloud accounts - you will need set up separate Google Authenticator code.

Logging in using Two-Factor Authentication

With two-factor authentication enabled - when you log into your cloud account - you will be asked both - for your username and password, and (on the next page) for Token (PIN code) from your Google Authenticator app.

Disabling Two-Factor Authentication

If you choose to disable two-factor authentication you can do it:

  • at Login - Where you are asked for authentication token - click Disable two-factor auth link. System will send an e-mail to your registered e-mail account with a token, that you should copy/paste into Cloud console window.
  • or in your My Profile page (just press Disable 2-factor authentication).
